Questions?
Please consult
your licensed health care provider prior to beginning The Univera Weight
Management System. 1. Is the Univera Weight Management System safe? The Univera Weight Management System is considered safe for healthy adults.* If you have any health concerns or conditions, or are on any medications, consult your health care professional before starting the Univera Weight Management System. 2. If hungry, can I take an additional Univera Weight Management System food? If hunger occurs between meals, a dieter can safely take an additional protein food, along with more of the unlimited vegetables. The average 200-pound or less dieter can have up to five Univera Weight Management System foods per day, making sure that no more than one of those is a "restricted" food (e.g., chili, oatmeal). These foods have a different macronutrient profile compared to the other Univera Weight Management System foods. If you are above 200 pounds and hungry for protein foods, additional foods can be used per day. 3. Why are fruits not allowed on The Univera Weight Management System? Fruits are excluded temporarily, in Stages 1 and 2. Fruits are re-introduced in the stabilization phase of the program. While fruits may not make you gain weight, they can slow down and even prevent you from losing weight. That's because, once metabolized by the body, fruits transform into sugar - or glucose - and the glucose reserve is precisely what you want to deplete in order to get your body to begin to burn calories from your excess fat supply. The goal of The Univera Weight Management System is to empty the body's reserves of carbohydrates so that it can begin to burn its reserve of excess fat, all the while remaining alert and vigorous through muscle-sustaining and organ-protecting protein foods, such as the program's protein foods, eggs, lean meats, poultry, fish and seafood. 4. Will I experience any symptoms from changing my diet? Although many people feel completely satisfied throughout the program, some may experience withdrawal symptoms during the first few days. This is absolutely normal and should even be anticipated, especially by those who are accustomed to consuming a lot of processed foods, sweets, and salty, oily foods. Possible withdrawal symptoms may include fatigue, dizziness, nausea and hunger. This is your body's way of reacting to the absence of its habitual dose of sugars, oils, and/or salt. Those who suffer from hunger can indulge in up to five Univera Weight Management System foods per day, and unlimited crunchy veggies from the "unlimited vegetables" list, to soothe any need for snacking. If any of these symptoms occur, take a deep breath and relax. Sip on a large glass of water. Take an extra shot of Matol®Km®. Typically, these symptoms subside quickly, and can last up to three or four days. 5. What is sucralose? Sucralose is a sweetener derived from sugar cane. It tastes like sugar but has zero calories and is not assimilated by the body, which means that it has zero (0) impact on the blood and its glycemia (blood sugar value). 6. Why does the program suggest that we supplement with a mineralized sea salt? Mineralized sea salt can be added to your diet for additional flavor and to ensure that your body has all the sodium and healthful trace minerals it needs to function properly. 7. What is the best way to cook meat and vegetable foods? Baking, broiling, grilling or microwaving is recommended most. Cooking in water and boiling may disperse and release valuable nutrients. Eating vegetables as close to raw as possible is highly encouraged, as heat-cooking breaks down healthful fibers and long chains of sugars into shorter chains that get absorbed more quickly (and are thus less healthful) than when in their uncooked, longer chain form. 8. Why are protein foods so vital? Studies show that protein can help sustain lean muscle mass and fuel repair of body systems. Also, muscles make up the greatest drive behind the engine that burns calories. So, the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. And the more calories you burn, the more fat you burn. That's why men lose weight faster than women, because the majority of men have greater muscle mass than women. 9. Why do people following The Univera Weight Management System plan have to take supplements? On this program, it is important to balance the diet with the Univera Weight Management System's supplements, which provide a comprehensive array of nutrients for safety, satiety, energy production, and healthful weight loss. This program carefully balances nutrients found in foods temporarily omitted during Stages 1 and 2. *This program is not appropriate for people with kidney or liver disease. Questions?
